Spring Has Sprung: Focus On Growing A Better You

Spring is here! It’s a season when most of us get an extra kick in our step and our productivity soars. Whether it’s the extra daylight we get or the fact that everything around us is in bloom, spring has been proven to have positive effects on our wellbeing. ~ Brought to you by: Take Care With Peanuts

Spring Has Sprung: Focus On Growing A Better You

Kickoff Your Day With Movement

As our sleep schedules change, sometimes we need a little extra pep in our step to jump start our day. Wake those sleepy eyes with a movement break to activate the brain, release endorphins, and help relieve stress with a morning break. Not sure where to start? Create a playlist with some of our GoNoodle favorites.

Focus On Positives

Be the sunshine of your students' lives as you pour positivity into the day. Have your classroom start their day with these five positivity affirmations!

Teacher Tip: Start the class by asking your students to repeat the affirmations after you or by writing the affirmations on the board while they copy them in their notebooks.

  1. Today, I’m ready to learn something new.
  2. Every day, my learning ability is getting better.
  3. I am at the right place at the right time.
  4. For every problem, there is a solution.
  5. If my attitude is positive, positivity will follow me.

Encourage Curiosity

Classroom Challenge: Start the week by asking your students what they would like to learn about relating to your topic of study! Let your daily journey be guided by the Peanuts gang as they explore the world around them.

  • Get Up and Get Outside: Snoopy shows Charlie Brown that the chance to take in nature’s beauty from a new perspective is worth the extra effort.
  • Fun For All Seasons: Thanks to Peppermint Patty’s leadership, Snoopy learns that you can have fun outside no matter what time of year.
  • Learning is Everywhere: Sally learns that she can't hide from learning, even if she isn't in school.

Create a Calm Down Moment

The turbulence of spring’s weather can be similar to the highs and lows of our days. Create a mindfulness moment for yourself and your students to calm and reset your minds as you make the best of all the layers of the world around you. Relax, think positive, and flow with these mindfulness exercises.

  • Get Back On Track: Take a minute to slow down and get back on track.
  • Melting: Practice melting away that icky frozen feeling you get when you're scared, frustrated, or angry.
  • From Mindless to Mindful: Practice being mindful and letting your attention rest on just this moment.
