This is the way to use balanced breathing and help calm a busy mind, with help from Grogu and STAR WARS.
Balanced breathing with Grogu. [GROGU COOING] Hello, there. Oh, it looks like Grogu is already here, trying to balance and settle his busy feelings. We could all use a little positive energy and powerful calm during busy times, like a way to slow down and quiet ourselves when we need to. Hang on. I know this calming exercise. It's called balanced breathing. Now, this is a good one. Let's join and practice with Grogu. Choose how to sit comfortably. Feet and legs become still. Hands can rest on your lap with palms up. Your body is balanced. Both strong and relaxed, just like Grogu. Now, lift just your right hand high, but keep your left hand on your leg. That's a good start. Now, slowly bring your right hand down while you lift your left hand up high. That's it. And as we keep alternating, let's match our breathing, just like Grogu. Breathing in while your right hand goes up and left hand goes down. Now, breathing out while right goes down and left goes up. Great job. Now, you can ease your left hand down to rest as well. Wait. Do you hear that? [FROGS CROAKING] Oh, dear. Grogu is distracted by all the frogs. It is hard to pay attention and stay settled when busy frogs are hopping and flopping. Maybe you know what that's like, too, with lots of things going on around you. Let's see how Grogu goes from distracted to focused, with more balanced breathing and a little help from these floppy frogs. Same as before, but this time with frogs. When hands are up, frogs hop on. We'll have one in each hand, and balance with our breathing. Inhale. Right hand raises. Pause. Let one frog land on that hand. Fun, right? Now breathe out, and lower your right hand as your left hand lifts. Pause to gather one more frog. Raise and lower and breathe in. Lower and lift again and breathe out. [CALM MUSIC PLAYING] Once more, following Grogu. Slowly going down and up, breathing in. And finally, just your right hand floats down while breathing out. Both get to rest, and we're done. Even the frogs feel settled enough to quietly hop away. I don't think-- phew. That was close. Well, besides that tiny distraction at the end there we learned how to settle some of our busy energy using our hands, our balanced breathing, and of course, a few bouncy and now very calm frogs. If you still feel distracted at times, that's OK. Settling our busy energy takes practice. The next time you feel too busy, remember, you can always practice your balanced breathing like we did here with Grogu and our frog friends.
