The Amazing Arnstar gives a tutorial of his favorite style of dance, LiteFeet.
Hey, what's up y'all? This is Arn Star, you rockin' with Blazer Fresh. Got my boy Xavier... What's happenin'? Got my boy Rasheem. What's up, baby? Gonna get that right. (Rasheem and Xavier laugh) So we gon' make it happen, y'all ready, world? We got some dance moves for y'all. This is from a dance style called Light Feet, which is born in Harlem, just like me. All right, so we gon' start off with a popular dance called The Original Harlem Shake. So get your shoulders ready, and let's do it. So we're gonna start with the first moves, it's more upper body movement, so we're gonna do like a scoop likeness with the arm and throw our shoulder up in this manner, like this. Boom... Boom... Boom... Boom. All right? So we're gonna try it again. You guys ready? Got it. Nice. Smooth. We're gonna do it again? Got it? Okay. So we scoop, boom, scoop, boom. Scoop, shoulder, scoop, shoulder. All right? So you're probably wondering what you're gonna do with your legs. You're gonna move your feet in a marching-like manner. So it's gonna be a one, two, one, two. One, two, one, two. That's just for the feet. Remember what I said about the shoulders. So it's one, two, one, two. One, two, one, two. All right? Now we're gonna put it together. We're gonna move the shoulder, we're gonna do the scoop and the step all in one motion. You guys ready? Let's do it. Let's do it. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Again, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Get it now, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Nice. All right, not so bad, right? Nah. Let's try some music, guys, shall we? Let's make it happen. DJ Robby Fresh, throw that beat on. (beat music) This sounds familiar. Aw, yeah. This sounds familiar! Sounds like something we did before. Start with the legs, you can start with the legs. You can start with the legs like this. All right, let's do it. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four. Let's have some fun with it. Hey, hey. Shoulders, shoulders. Ha! Go up with it, go up with it. Go down with it, go down with it. Move your feet now. With your feet you can, you can. Hey, hey. Yeah, hey. Harlem Shake, fresh out of Harlem. All right. Aight! I like that. This one is called the Tone Wop. Rasheem Tone Wop. Tone, Tone Wop. Tone Wop. Tone to the Tone, Ta-Tone, Ta-Tone Wop, hey! All right, so this is another simple, basic step that you can really liven up. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna start with our feet movement. Just gonna do a step, twist, back. All right, so it's a step, twist, back. So in a more faster motion it's like this. Step, twist. Step, twist. Step, twist. Step, twist. Step, twist. Step, twist. Step, twist. Step, twist. All right? Now that's the bottom motion. Top motion, when you twist, you're gonna bring your arms out and bring it in for a snap. Arms out, and bring it in for a snap. Arms out, and bring it in for a snap. Arms out, and bring it in for a snap. So let's see how we can put that together. You ready? Let's get it. One, two, three, let's go. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap. Perfect, you like that? I think you can add some seasoning to that. Yeah? Let's do it. Smooth! You like that? Let's get it. Let's try to put it to some music and see how it looks when it's in real time. Robby Rob! Let's do it, DJ Robby Fresh. Xavier Robby Fresh! Rasheem Make it happen. (beat music) Oh, it's one of my faves. Mm-hmm. Give it a little bounce. We like this one too. One, two, three, let's go. Step, twist, snap, ha, step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap, step, twist, snap. Okay, step, twist, snap, step, twist, snap. Step, twist, snap, step, twist, snap. That's right, let's go with it, keep on rockin' with the, hey, Tone Wop now, you're getting it now. Oh, I see you, I see you, yeah, nice. Now we could spice it up, we could spice it up. Next one we could switch it, spice it up. You could switch, ha, switch, kick it, foot, with, ha, jump, hey, with a, ha, you could, hey, you could, ha, over head. (snaps) Woo! Tone Wop. Sheem, I see you over there, Tone Woppin'. Yeah, I see you doin' your thing over there, bro. So that's called the Tone Wop. Don't be afraid to really jump around and get that goin'. All right, let's take it to Brooklyn, shall we? Rasheem, Xavier Woo! This one comes from Brooklyn right here. This is called the Milly Rock. Now-- Xavier Milly what? The Milly Rock. On what? Any block! The Milly what? Rock. On who? On any block. The Milly what? Rock. On what? Xavier, Rasheem Any block. Milly Rock? On? Any block. That's right. Okay, so even thought Light Feet comes from Harlem, it's spread in the whole New York City, it spread out to the whole New York City. And so Brooklyn brought this great dance move called the Milly Rock. And so now it's incorporated into the movement, and this is how it goes. It's another scoop-like movement, but this time it's a little bit more simpler, and you're just gonna move your body with a scoop. So we scoop, then we move our body. We scoop, and then we move our body. We scoop, then we move our body. We scoop, and we move our body. All right? Gotcha. You got it? Smooth. You got it? Let's get it. You was killing it in practice the other day. This guy right here, look out. You got it. Right. Okay, so let's get some music going. And let's see how the Milly Rock look in real live time, let's go. (beat music) Let's go, scoop, body, scoop, body. Scoop, body, scoop, body. Scoop, body, scoop, body. Scoop, body, let's do it. One more time, body, scoop, body, scoop, body, scoop, body, scoop, body, scoop, body, scoop, again. Scoop, body. Scoop, body. Uh-huh, you can, okay, now let's turn it up a little bit. Y'all wanna turn it up? Yeah. Let's do it. Hoo, huh, Milly, split this, Milly, with the, hoo, hoo! Catch it. Catch it, catch it, throw it to you. Yeah, that's yours. Hey, all right. DJ! My man, Arn Star. Awesome. Blazer Fresh, baby! All Put it all together now. Yeah, let's make it happen, man. (all laugh) DJ Robby! Let's do that. Xavier Drop the beat! (beat music) Y'all ready? You can scream it out when you do it, too. Like this, Harlem Shake, Harlem Shake. Tone Wop, Tone Wop. Milly Rock, Milly Rock. Harlem Shake, then you do the Tone Wop. Harlem Shake, Harlem Shake. Tone Wop, Tone Wop. Milly Rock, Milly Rock. Harlem Shake, then you do the Tone Wop. Harlem Shake, Harlem Shake. Tone Wop, Tone Wop. Milly Rock, Milly Rock. Harlem Shake, then you do the Tone Wop.
