It’s the season of forest greens, maple reds, and pumpkin oranges! And what better way to celebrate the season then use nature as your inspiration to create the perfect art piece!
Kick start your day with these three crafts perfect to dress up your classroom bulletin board or refrigerator all season long!
1. Disguise Your Turkey!
Challenge your kids to dress a paper turkey in a disguise to make it safely past Thanksgiving dinner! Take them outside during recess or after school to grab elements from the outdoors to use as they hide their turkey from hungry bellies! What kind of creations can your kids or students make?
PAIR YOUR ACTIVITY WITH A VIDEO: Before you send your kids outside, get them excited to Jump Into Fall with Peanuts!
2. Scavenger Hunt Nature Walk
With the hustle and bustle of school, sports, sleep, friends, and homework, sometimes it’s hard to take in the beauty around us! Take 15 minutes of your day to stop and breathe in nature through a scavenger hunt nature walk! Use our Adventure Journal in English and Spanish to help you capture the different elements of your adventure.
PAIR YOUR ACTIVITY WITH A VIDEO: Trees are around us all! Kickoff your walk with learning the importance of trees with Charlie Brown in We Need Our Trees.
3. Create A Thankful Tree
Fall is a season to be grateful for, from the smallest to the biggest joys in your life. Create a collection of memories by creating a thankful tree of what your kids are thankful for. Everyday take a leaf from outside and write what they are thankful for. Use each leaf to build your tree! At the end of the month, send them home as a memory or save them to use next year!
PAIR YOUR ACTIVITY WITH A VIDEO: Inspire your kids this season to demonstrate kindness with Charlie Brown’s Caring Tree.
