NFL PLAY 60 Kids Day on February 3rd brought together thousands of kids to have fun and get physically active with their favorite teams, players, mascots, and cheerleaders. We all got to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the Super Bowl, but the Kansas City Chiefs took home the most votes at PLAY 60 Kids Day! With their exercise, the Kansas City Championship Plank, the Chiefs had this season’s top NFL PLAY 60 play! But, the real winner of the big game experience were all the kids who got moving with their favorite NFL teams!

According to the American Heart Association, getting physically active for 60-minutes a day is critical to drive immediate and long-term health in youth, especially as social distancing lingers.

“Current and former NFL athletes are looking for different ways to stay active with the pandemic. Working out virtually with teammates, family, and friends has helped keep us in great shape,” says Cameron Lynch, NFL Legend. “NFL PLAY 60 is a great resource and reminder that, even in untraditional times, daily physical activity is so important for overall wellness.”

The American Heart Association and the NFL are committed to helping all kids reach their full potential by encouraging healthy habits early in life. Traditionally, only one in five kids get enough physical activity to meet the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ latest Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans[1]. By working together with parents and educators, the NFL alongside the American Heart Association, through the NFL PLAY 60 initiative hopes to take steps to close the physical activity gap.
