Suiting Up Snoopy: The Making of Snoopy for Artemis I Page

I'm a sculptor and part of my life is working on small things, working on Snoopy costumes. We have to deal with the reality of it, going into space. So we basically try to follow what the real suits have. Luckily, Ted did supply me with more information about how we could interpret the reality into fantasy. One of the things NASA's most concerned about is materials. And so I was able to guide Martin to particular materials to get things just right. Shima draped Snoopy, then muslin, another fabric to develop the patterns. From these patterns, she cut them out of the real fabric and created this masterpiece. Masterpiece, thank you. This goes on and fits in here. Inside, OK. There's a lot of interaction between Ted and Shima and myself, and Martin, making sure that the helmet matches some cartoonish element of Snoopy. I've known this team for 20 years. So we're used to bouncing ideas off of each other and creating something new. [MUSIC PLAYING]
