We all know movement is important for physical and emotional health, especially for kids. Yet only one in three children are physically active every day, according to the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. At the same time, kids in the U.S. ages 0 to 8 spend over 2 hours a day with screens! Our kids are more inactive and spending more time with technology than ever before.
To help get more kids moving this summer, GoNoodle is launching GoNoodle GoSummer and challenging kids to achieve 15 million minutes of movement and mindfulness by playing GoNoodle!
When we hit this collective goal, we’ll unlock a brand new GoNoodle Champ for students to enjoy when they head back to school! GoNoodle Champs are characters with wildly different personalities that encourage kids to stay active to grow and succeed.
“Like many parents, I think technology can be a great tool for my kids to learn and be entertained. However, it can sometimes be a struggle to manage screen time to ensure my kids get enough active time moving their bodies, playing and interacting in the real world,” said KC Estenson, CEO at GoNoodle. “Our GoNoodle GoSummer ‘15 Million Minutes of Movement and Mindfulness’ Challenge will help turn screen time into active time by getting kids moving and mindful while they are out of school for the summer.”
Join the 15 million minutes challenge and get moving with GoNoodle GoSummer! It starts May 27th and runs all summer long. GoNoodle GoSummer features new videos every week that will show kids how-to do new things like How To Spin A Basketball On Your Finger and How To Make PB&J Tacos!
